Darren Stewart-Jones

Darren Stewart-Jones is an award winning producer, director and a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada.

As the Artistic Director of Baby Gumm Productions, Darren has produced and/or directed several plays at theatres across Ontario and at the United Solo Festival in New York City.

Darren's plays include Fade To Black, The Judy Monologues, Sherlock & Watson: Behind Closed Doors, Ramblings of a Middle Aged Drag Queen and Emerald City - A musical play.

Darren is the founding Artistic Director of both the HamilTEN Festival, an annual festival of 10 minute plays in Hamilton and the Toronto Queer Theatre Festival, an annual festival of LGBTQ theatre in Toronto.

Darren's favourite directing credits include Love Letters starring Sheila McCarthy and David Ferry and Norm Foster's The Christmas Tree featuring Ramona Milano and Marc Bondy.

Darren is especially committed to encouraging other independent (LGBTQ) artists in following their own paths of creative expression.

Darren was a nominee for a 2017 City of Hamilton Arts Award in the Arts Management category.

Darren's stage production, Misfit, based entirely on a letter written by Marilyn Monroe, has been adapted into a short film entitled Misfit M starring Paige Locke. The film will premiere in 2019.
